Coming Soon: Woodblock Printmaking Class and Garden City Library Show!

It’s almost that time of year – can you believe it?!! The weather is cooling off more and more, getting ready for the winter season, and a drumroll… to annual holiday celebrations!

To celebrate the season, I’m teaching a Winter Woodblock Printmaking Class that is perfect for making your own handmade cards and frameables – either for yourself or as gifts to the loved ones in your life!

Supplies are included. While all students should be able to carve independently with sharp chisels after instructions on safe use, every experience level is welcome!

Here are the details:

  • What: Winter Woodblock Printmaking Class (for ages 16+)
  • When: Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9:00am-1:30pm
  • Where: Catalyst Arts Collaborative located at 6427 W Ustick Rd Boise, ID 83709
  • Cost: $90 per participant to explore this unique art form!

Designs for Woodblock Printmaking

Here are some designs I’ve created, some with their woodblocks pictured, as examples of potential ideas you can work on.

Some of these I will have designs for you to try, or many of my students enjoy bringing or creating their own 6″x8″ original designs. Also, Catalyst has a wealth of material to choose from, or my students also like to draw from images they find on their phones.

I’d love to see you in class! We always have a great time!

Garden City Library Show

Also, I will be showing work (affordable framed prints) at the Garden City Library. Here are the details:

  • When: Library open hours, October 15-November 26, 2024
  • Where: The Garden City Library is located at 6015 N Glenwood St, Garden City, ID 83714

The Library is located inside of the City Hall building.

And it is so cute. And it’s a library. And art is there. Can you stand it?!

My work will be alongside some of the far windows inside of the library.

My side job at a different local library in the Boise area has taught me how vital they are to our communities. They are places for all people to gather, to educate children to give them a tremendous beginning in life, to educate and entertain everyone, to help people seek employment or enhance their skills, and to provide a welcoming environment for all kinds of free or low-cost nurturance!

As an artist, and a library worker, I fully support both libraries and art! I’m passionate about how accessible they are to the entire public.

Come get yourself some library and art love at the Garden City Library! Thank you for supporting (the libraries and) the arts!
