My show Heartfelt is up at the Riverside Hotel in Garden City, ID until the end of April. It features 18 works!
On April 7, from 5:30-7:30 pm, for the first First Friday Event of the year, I will have a booth on the first floor beside the lobby selling cards and prints and the displayed work, all of which will be for sale. Most of the displayed work this time is framed high-quality reproductions of the originals that are very affordable. I also included excellent original works – including carved, painted, and burnt basswood paintings – in the show as well.
Here’s a video tour to give you a taste of what you’ll see!
The show is a mixture of spiritual artwork I’ve done as Artist in Residence at Boise First Congregational United Church of Christ, and also includes artwork about nature, which will always be a major inspiration for me.
Gratitude can be a source of strength during times of painful trial and difficulty and can also be an overflowing cup of thanksgiving. Several pieces in the show are about how development in the Treasure Valley is displacing and shrinking habitats for wildlife. I’m so grateful for nature, which is why this breaks my heart.
My artwork is mainly driven by my gratitude such as this, and also anticipation. Anticipation can be needful or can be exciting for future rejoicing.
Included in work inspired by anticipation is my spiritual work as Artist in Residence: anticipation of Easter (appropriate for the present time) and Advent anticipating Christmas. In the show, these works are mixed in with my works about nature!
I believe firmly that experience of artwork is always necessarily a unique experience, free of any intention, even that of the artist. And what is important is every individual’s particular experience of it. My artwork is for everyone, regardless of any imposed meaning, and I embrace all connections, whether spiritual or not, or whether in agreement with me or not. My art always has this exciting freedom.
My show is on the first floor of the Riverside Hotel, and you can’t miss it! It’s even behind the front desk!
I love to share my passion, and I hope you enjoy this artwork. Here’s a link to more artwork on my website for your curiosity!
