Meridian Fine Arts Festival, Plus a Fun Class!

First of all, thank you to everyone I saw at Art and Roses at the beginning of June! It was great fun, and I loved connecting with so many of you!

Now, the Inaugural Meridian Fine Arts Festival is in just a few short days!

Meridian Fine Arts Festival

  • When: Saturday, June 29 from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, June 30 from 10 AM to 4 PM
  • Where: Julius M. Kleiner Park in Meridian, ID right next to The Village shopping center

I’m so happy for you to see my work and to share it with Meridian and the surrounding communities!

I will be showing my original work for sale, prints, and cards.

I’d love to see you there!

July 2024 Woodblock Printmaking Class

Also, coming up in July, I will be teaching a Woodblock Printmaking Class!

  • When: Saturday, July 20 2024 from 2 PM to 6:30 PM
  • Where: Catalyst Arts Collaborative located at 6427 W Ustick Rd. Boise, ID 83704

Come learn some of this ancient art, genuine and personal, made with your hands instead of high tech!

Who doesn’t love to feel proud about displaying their own unique creation, or giving or receiving a handmade card in the mail featuring custom art?

Join us for this all-experience-levels, low pressure, and unique opportunity to create your own greeting cards, works on paper, and even a woodblock that can be a work of art in itself! This is an excellent way to learn how to work with wood and ink, and it’s accessible to everyone ages 16+ who can carve independently with sharp chisels after instruction on safe use.

You can work from designs I will provide, or bring your own 6″x8″ drawings! Depending on the class, it’s possible that each student can make up to two woodblock designs to print from.

Here are some photos of work by students:

Some participants chose to work with designs I provided or that they found at Catalyst.

Other students brought their own drawings to work from.

You will learn about necessary concepts and techniques like utilizing positive and negative space, as well as mirror image thinking, while you carve your woodblock. All prints from your woodblock will be mirror images of the carved block, which is something to keep in mind if you decide to bring your own drawings to work from!

Students consistently report having a great time making their prints and handmade cards! We also have a lot of fun sharing and cheering each other on as we work!

  • Where: Catalyst Arts Collaborative located at 6427 W Ustick Rd. Boise, ID 83704
  • When: July 20th, 2 PM – 6:30 PM

Cost: $90 per participant to explore this unique art form!

See you this weekend at the Meridian Fine Arts Festival, and hopefully again at my woodblock printmaking class on July 20!

Thank you for supporting the arts!
