On Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9:30 am-3:00 pm, you have the rare opportunity to join me for my woodblock printmaking class! This one doubles as a collage class and is taking place at Catalyst Arts Collaborative (located at 2417 Bank Dr, Boise, ID 83705).
I don’t do these classes very often, so if you’re interested in discovering how to carve blocks of wood, ink them, and create exciting woodblock prints and collages, be sure to sign up now and come make art with me on Sunday!
It’ll be a hands-on, deep dive workshop starting with printmaking, a break for lunch (grab a bite in the community or bring a sack lunch), and an opportunity to collage and share after lunch. Beginners will learn the basics of woodblock carving and printing, including the tools and techniques involved in carving and transferring your design.
Bring your friends or a date and share blocks and prints to make more elaborate, collaborative designs! You have the option of going deeply into the woodblock printmaking process – and use your prints or other’s prints – to create powerful collages and paintings on paper.
You’ll walk away with several quality finished prints or collages, the woodblock you carved your design into (a work of art in itself!), and best of all, the knowledge you need to create incredible woodblock prints in the future!
